About Catherine LaPointe Vollmer
I grew up in the "North Country," the area of the state above the Adirondack Mountains near the Canadian border. I earned my BFA in illustration from Syracuse University, then returned to the North and now run my home studio on a freelance basis.
I am a fine artist, a children's book illustrator, and a graphic designer. I enjoy dabbling in many different styles of artwork and always have several projects going at once. Illustration is the only thing I can imagine still wanting to work at when I am 30, 40, even 80 years old. I plan on never retiring.

-Bari Hochwald, Florence International Theatre Company"Catherine is extremely gifted in her ability to listen to design concepts and ideas and bring her artistic and intellectual talents into a workable form. I recommend her for any position with absolute certainty that she will work as hard and sincerely as is required to get the job done. "

"Catherine possesses the ability to quietly analyze a situation and arrive at a solution that eludes the impetuous...Catherine's energetic curiosity in the pursuit of the diverse avenues available to visual problem-solving lead her to create a variety of successful images, each tailored to the purpose of the communication rather than imposing limitations on content and style."
-Bob Dacey, "Miriam's Cup"
"Catherine was so easy to work with! She took my ideas and made them into a beautiful piece of art and a great keepsake for my wedding!"
